Designer Bown of London has brought you this men's polyester dressing gown using claret burgundy tones. Also the claret burgundy dressing gown is designed in a paisley pattern, All the dressing gowns come complete with bown of london tags. The Bown of London Gable Long Smoking Jacket - Claret Burgundy has two rather large deep pockets and an adjustable waistband to suit your comfort. Ideal for relaxing in abolsute style as the contrasting quilted shawl collar is sure to stand out. The longer length keep you covered in style.

The smoking jacket originated back in the 1850s when tobacco smoking became a popular after diner activity where the gentlemen would put on their smoking jacket and retire to the smoking room. To protect their clothing from the smell of smoke and falling ash, velvet was traditionally used, but over time other materials such as silk and wool have been introduced. The classic- style of the men’s smoking jacket features turn-up cuffs, a shawl collar and braided piping. Usually fastened by a toggle or button, the smoking jacket robe currently come with a tie belt for easy fastening. The customary colours for a smoking jacket would have been navy blue, burgundy or a dark green and could have had a pattern comprising of checks, paisley, or herringbone, while maintaining a solid colour on the cuffs and collar.

Brands such as Bown of London and Derek Rose have used a lot of these features in their smoking jackets and some style can be offered in a short or long version to suit your needs.
